July 2025 - Patriot Park Sponsorship Program Launched

• Public invited to sponsor custom cement picnic tables, benches, and matching BBQ pits mounted on concrete slabs—creating lasting tributes for generations to enjoy.

June 2025 – Beautification Project Renewed
  • New partnerships with County Judge Ben Zeller & Commissioner Shannon Martin to continue enhancing Patriot Park and surrounding areas.
Jan 24, 2024 – Fox’s Bend Showcase Hole Construction Begins
  • Donated 7 limestone blocks for a signature #18 showcase hole with a limestone face and elevated basket (slated completion Sept 2025).
Oct 20, 2023 – Patti Welder Disc Golf Initiative
  • United with One Star Disc Golf and VISD to equip Patti Welder students with a complete disc golf starter package: an Innova Portable DiscCatcher, 40 high‑quality discs with spotters, and a Pulsar Ultimate Disc for toss‑and‑catch.
    • One Star Disc Golf also hosted a hands‑on mini clinic to introduce students to the sport.
July 2022 – Patriot Park Disc Golf Kiosk Installation
  •  Community partners (Home Depot, Metal Mart, Reliable Residential Service) helped add a custom information kiosk for the Patriot Park Disc Golf Course.
May 2022 – New Stakeholders On Board!
  • Initiated a collaboration between Coleto Creek Park’s supervisor and disc golf course designer Ron Engebretson, resulting in a project proposal and a quote from Innova for 18 baskets – effectively launching a new course development.
  • GBRA funded project to bring the vision to life – creating an 18-hole championship disc golf course at Coleto Creek Park.
  • Course expertly designed by Ron Engebretson and Wallace Hall.
Jan 2022 – Patriot Park Cement Tee Pads Installed
  • Patriot Park Disc Golf Course upgraded with cement tee pads.
  • Course design by the Fox’s Bend Design Team led by Ron Engebretson.
Nov 2021 Patriot Park Fitness & Family Playground 
  • Victoria County granted permission to seek funding for a Fitness & Family Playground.
  • Location set adjacent from main park  entrance. Designs were generated. Price Tag Big. Project pushed to later date.
  • County agreed to maintain new aminity for its lifetime.
Jan 2021 – Patriot Park Disc Golf Course Installed
  •  Permanent course installed, creating Victoria’s third 18 hole course (Riverside, Fox’s Bend & Patriot Park).
  • Opened for play Feb 2021
  • Victoria County agreed to maintain the course for its lifetime.
July 2020 – Patriot Park Disc Golf Course Approval
  • Victoria County accepted donation of equipment and design for a permanent 18 hole disc golf course at Patriot Park.
2019 – Collaboration Sparked
  • Partnered with City of Victoria Parks & Rec, Victoria County, and One Star Disc Golf to host the 37th Victoria Open.
  • Introduced the new River Course at Fox’s Bend and a temporary 18 hole course at Patriot Park using rented baskets from Waterloo Disc Golf Club.
2016 – Founded with a Vision
  • Nonprofit established to support the City of Victoria Parks & Recreation.
  • Initial intent: fund a new Riverside Dog Park.
    (Project postponed after city shifted to a new 10 year plan.)
